Blood donors help Audrey keep on dancing

Seven-year-old Audrey Nethery is a big personality in a small package. She sings and rocks karaoke in her pajamas. She does Zumba in front of huge crowds. AudreyShe’s a YouTube star inspiring tens of millions of viewers, and you may have recently seen her story on The Today Show and The NBC Nightly News.

Audrey wouldn’t be here to share her talents with the world without blood donors. Audrey has Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA), an extremely rare blood disorder. She needs regular blood transfusions to survive.

“I am so appreciative of the individuals whose blood is within my daughter at this very moment. Without blood, my little angel would not be with us today,” said Audrey’s father, Scott Nethery.

Audrey’s parents both coordinate blood drives at their workplaces and are eager to build awareness about blood donation and DBA. Audrey recently recorded a video shout out to American Red Cross blood donors. You can help patients like Audrey by donating blood. To make an appointment to give blood, call 1-800 RED CROSS, visit or download the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
